Prof. d-r Slagjana Jakimovik (born in Skopje, 1971) is a full professor of mathematics (since 2016); works at Faculty of Pedagogy “St. Kliment Ohridski” in Skopje since it was founded in 1995/1996. At the Institute of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences in Skopje, she obtained her university degree in mathematics in 1995, and her master’s degree in mathematical sciences in 2001. In 2005 she completed her doctoral studies in mathematics (supervisor James E. Keesling) at the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA (the same year ranked 57th on the Shanghai list of world universities). Prof. Jakimovik served as chairman of the Institute of Primary Education (2012-2016), and currently serves as a chairman of the third cycle-doctoral studies programme in Education of Teachers (for Primary Education), since 2017. She is an accredited mentor of doctoral students in both doctoral programmes, Education of Teachers (for Primary Education) and Early Childhood Education. Some of her original research works are published in scientific journals  with impact factors in the fields of Mathematics and of Mathematics education (Fundamenta Mathematicae, Topology Proceedings, Croatian Journal of Education,…) as well as in books of proceedings of international scientific conferences (Complex Analysis and Applications ’13, Sofia: Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences,…). Participated in many international scientific conferences, and delivered invited plenary lectures (13^th Nitra Mathematical Conference, Department of Mathematics, Constantine the Philosopher University, Nitra, Slovakia, 2015; 3^rd Dynamic Mathematics in Education Conference, IMI, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, 2015). She was a lead researcher of several scientific projects (The Beliefs of Prospective Primary School and Pre-school Teachers about the Nature of Knowledge, Learning and Teaching Mother Tongue and Mathematics, a national project financed by Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje; …).
